How long is the set up for OHIP billing with MedSwift?
For physicians with an existing OHIP BILLING NUMBER, the set up time is about 1-2 weeks. For new physicians it can be up to 4-8 weeks.
How can I get my work to you?
The most secure way to submit billing sheets is by email to billings@medswift.com. You can also mail or express post your billing sheets to us. We also offer pick up at local hospitals (where we have existing clients).
What are your billing deadlines?
The OHIP deadline for submission is the 18th of the month to process claims for payment for the following month. To allow sufficient time for processing claims, we encourage our clients to submit their billing sheets to MedSwift by the 10th of the month.
What information does MedSwift require to submit claims to OHIP?
All claims need to include: patient's name, date of birth, gender, OHIP number, date of service, diagnosis, service code, admission dates for inpatient services, and referring physician/nurse practitioner for consults.
What are your fees?
We charge a small flat fee for Third Party, Private, Quebec, or IFHP invoices. For individual specialists, our rate is typically 2 – 2.5% plus HST. Contact us for more details.
